Silver English key pocket watch as chronograph with stopwatch. James Richardson, Coventry / William Reeley & Sons, London & Liverpool.
Late 19th century Movement no. 73138, case no. 138 and 60.
Three-quarter plate movement with rich engravings, inscribed and signed "Manuf[acture]d by J. Richardson, Coventry" and "W. Reeley & Sons, London & Liverpool, Established 1790", trade mark, fitted with lever escapement, screw compensation balance, blued Breguet balance spring and screws, screwed chatons, keywind. Functional in short-term test. White enamel dial with recessed center, inscribed "Centre Seconds Chronograph", Roman and Arabic numerals, minute ring, tachymeter scale with 300 1/5 second division and central second, brass split seconds hand.
Striding lion/City mark Chester/year letter H (1891)/master's mark JR hallmarked, silver dust cover. Ø 5.8 cm, L 31 cm. Watch 179 g, chain 38 g.
Lépine case with smooth back cover and empty coat of arms reserve, coin edge and lateral slider for stopwatch function. On a hallmarked silver watch chain with long links, lobster clasp and spring ring. Slight signs of age and wear, scratches.
