Museum-quality extremely rare large Art Nouveau vase. Meissen.

Height: 63.5 cm.
Painted all around in color: a "Centaurenreigen" in a landscape between girl's flowers below the mouth and a trellis of flowers on the lower wall. The foot and shoulder with ornamental gold decoration. The body is flanked by two sculpted girl's heads as handles, mounted round foot. Incised mark, impressed mark, crossed swords mark painted once. The buyer receives free of charge the reference book "Meissener Jugendstil-Porzellan" by Johannes Just with the illustration of the design drawing by Theodor Grust. Gold partially rubbed, one glaze defect at the base, two glaze defects in the motif, small firing crack in one nose.
* Grust, painter, draughtsman, studied at the academy in Dresden. From 1898 at the Meissen manufactory, 1905-1909 head of the painting department, produced numerous designs for shapes and decorations. All lots with a limit (starting price) of at least €1,500 are checked against the Art Loss Register database.
