Sextant in wooden box.
Brass, lacquered black. The box 29.0 x 27.0 x 12.5 cm. 3.6 kg.
Sextant in matching wooden box, with additional accessories. Sextant marked "Carey London". Signs of age and use; continuous crack through the lid, key missing. Function of the sextant not tested, clear signs of use as well as a break on the glass components, additional eyepiece with traces of oxidation.
In the lid is a certificate from the National Physical Laboratory about the function of the sextant, dated 1901.
