Turned horn, stag roses, sour cherry stems, pipe bowls in relief, one with a porcelain intermediate piece (each with coloured and partially gilded pre-print), flexible hoses, cast metal appliqués partly painted bronze, brass, cords with tassels. Length (measured with tubes and mouthpieces) 1.30 and 1.54 m. Together 1.4 kg.
2 reservist pipes: the smaller one: porcelain bowl with lid in the shape of a pickelhaube; on the wall soldier with field insignia, flags and regimental epaulette as well as laurel wreath with the inscription "Parole Heimat." "Resv. Kleindopp", 11th Comp. 2nd Nass. Inf. Regt. No. 88 in Mainz 1906-1908." (2nd Nassau Infantry Regiment No. 88). Written list of names on the reverse. Porcelain centerpiece with portrait of Kaiser Wilhelm II in a wreath of oak leaves in relief, wooden cube with appliqués of the regiment and company numbers. Tulip-shaped carved horn element under a staghorn rose. The larger pipe: porcelain bowl with hat-shaped lid; on the wall a scene with cannons drawn by horses with riders in front of a mountain landscape. "Res. Schwarze", "Magdeb. Train Bat No. 4 Magdeburg 1898-1900." (Magdeburg Train Battalion No. 4). Written list of names on the reverse. Intermediate pieces of turned horn: appliqués of a cannon as well as regimental number and company designation B on a horn cube. Tulip-shaped carved horn element under a staghorn rose. Slight signs of age and wear. Chips to the relief decoration of the pipe bowls, gilding rubbed in places. Pipe bowl of the larger pipe with circumferential crack at the foot, this with traces of glue.
