Portrait of a young man with a full beard against a neutral background. In the Defregger archive under no. 102264. Enclosed confirmation of authenticity by Hans Peter Defregger from 1983. Illustrated in the catalog raisonné: Defregger, Hans Peter: Defregger 1835-1921. supplement volume. Rosenheim 1991, no. 12284. A tear in the margin.
Genre and history painter, studied under sculptor Stolz in Innsbruck, then studied at the Munich Academy under Anschütz and at the Munich School of Arts and Crafts under Dyks, later under Piloty. Finally professor at the academy in Munich.
