Wheel lock rifle.
Lock plate marked "IS". Probably Saxony 16th century.
L 109 cm. 3.9 kg.
Stained hardwood stock with small, engraved bone inlays, arabesques with dolphin heads. Outside octagonal barrel with rear sight and front sight, 16 mm caliber. Mechanics not tested. Barrel mount visible through cut-out for ramrod. One pin minimally damaged, barrel mount professionally restored. Ramrod L 84 cm, Ý max. 1.5 cm, 193 g (probably from Narwalzahn).
Comparable signature on a wheellock rifle from 1589, in the Army Museum Munich/Ingolstadt, according to the army / expert opinion & EU trade license available / All lots with a limit (starting price) of at least €2,000 are checked against the Art Loss Register database.
