Indistinct label and stamp on verso ("Friedrich Meschke [...] Hamburg [...]").
Mahogany and other woods, solid and veneered, stained in various colours, inlaid and partly ebonized. Approx. 175 x 44 x 34 cm.
Slender piece of furniture with 1 strutted glazed upper compartment, an open central compartment with mirrored back panel, 1 small drawer and 1 plinth compartment with a door inlaid with a farmhouse and a small stone bridge in a landscape, on 2 turned and 2 block feet. Rounded corners and segmentation, rich inlaid decoration with ebonized palmettes and decorative bands, light thread contour inlays, turned grooves and profiled edges. Brass keyhole fittings with bow handles typical of the style, 3 shelves in total. Restored with additions, slight edge and veneer defects, plinth compartment does not close, back panel somewhat cracked.
