"Hermes"
Patinated bronze and partly painted gold, light marble plinth. Inscribed, foundry mark (monogram CM?). H 37 cm, total 42 x 41 x 16 cm. 20.6 kg.
Messenger of the gods binding his winged sandals as he walks. Patina heavily rubbed in places, removed plaque on the marble.
Studied at the Berlin Academy under Ehrentraut, Wolff and Schaper, master student of Begas.
