Bronze, dark patina. Height: 41 cm. 3,4 kg.
The Meissen porcelain manufactory purchased the plaster model on June 11, 1920; according to the contract with the manufactory, Scheurich was able to have a limited number of bronze casts of his models produced as so-called studio copies. Venus is the goddess of love born from the foam of the sea, the gently foaming waves are clearly recognizable in the bronze cast of the model, in the porcelain figure they become a support for the high foaming spray. Small scratches on one foot.
* Scheurich, graphic artist, painter and sculptor, studied at the academy in Berlin. Provided models for the Meissen, KPM Berlin and Nymphenburg porcelain manufactories, professor in 1923, one of the most important porcelain sculptors in the first half of the 20th century.
