Bust of a boy: Jesus
Bronze, dark patina. Height: 20 cm.
Artist's signet on the side, Paris foundry mark: Siot Decauville, numbered: T 867. The bust was created after the full-figure depiction of the 12-year-old Jesus in the temple, which Larche had exhibited with great success at the Paris Salon in 1890.
* Larche, sculptor and painter, studied at the Ecole des Beaux Arts in Paris, regularly represented at the Salon des Artistes Francais from 1884-1911, member of the jury of the Ecole des Beaux Arts de Paris, received a number of official commissions.
