Polychrome painted, decorated in gold. Cup (h 13.5 cm), original saucer (Ø 18.5 cm).
Cylinder cup with crater rim, rosette handle and three paw feet. On the front a gold-framed rectangular cartouche with a view of the New Pavilion in Charlottenburg Palace Gardens, verso vegetal gold painting, gilded inside. 1 paw foot with gold retouched chipping, 1 paw foot glued, minimal gold abrasion in the saucer mirror.
The New Pavilion (also known as the Schinkel Pavilion) was built around 1824-1825. It is a neoclassical building in the palace gardens of Charlottenburg Palace in Berlin-Charlottenburg and was used as a marital home for Frederick William III and his second wife, Auguste Countess von Harrach. It stands directly next to the eastern side wing of the palace.
