* Koken, landscape and portrait painter, draughtsman, graphic artist, studied at the higher trade school in Hanover. 1836 exhibition debut, 1837-1841 active in Munich, regularly represented at the major German art exhibitions. 1843 founding member of the Hanover Artists' Association, founded a painting school in Hanover in 1846.
