The bust of a girl with her hair pinned up on a round base. Signs of age and wear, hair minimally chipped on the back, base minimally chipped.
Jean-Antoine Houdon: French sculptor (1741 Versailles - 1828 Paris), at the age of 15 he went to the École de l`Acadèmie royale for an apprenticeship as a sculptor, studied under Jean-Baptiste Pigalle and Jean-Baptiste Lemoyne, 1771-1773 stayed in Gotha and worked for the Prince of Saxe-Gotha-Altenburg.
