Terracotta. inscribed "M. Bouraine", mark "Susse Fres Edits Paris" and circle mark. 34.5 x 54.5 x 25.5 cm. 7.60 kg.
Woman reclining on a flat rectangular plinth, reaching for a child with her right arm. Signs of age and wear, the boy's right arm torn horizontally.
If this is Marcel André Bouraine, then: French sculptor (1886 Pontoise - 1948), he also used the artist names Derenne and Briand, pupil of the sculptor Alexandre Falguière, studied at the École des Beaux-Arts in Geneva with Max Le Verrier and Pierre Le Faguays and often worked with them.
