Large terracotta sculpture of a sleeping woman
Terracotta, reddish-orange. Inscribed "M. Bouraine". 14.5 x 92 x 19 cm. 7.60 kg.
On a rectangular plinth, the nude, stretched-out body of a young woman lying on her stomach.
If it is Marcel André Bouraine, then: French sculptor (1886 Pontoise - 1948), he also used the artist names Derenne and Briand, pupil of the sculptor Alexandre Falguière, studied at the École des Beaux-Arts in Geneva with Max Le Verrier and Pierre Le Faguays and often worked with them.
