Girl with putto and flower basket
Terracotta, light. inscribed "Clodion 1785". H 40.5 cm. 2.50 kg.
On a round base a striding girl in a flowing robe, carrying a basket of flowers in her right hand and holding a putto with a bird in her left arm. Signs of age and wear, minor cracks (robe, neck), lock of hair broken and glued, left wing of the bird defective.
If it is Clodion, then: actually Claude Michel (1738 Nancy - 1814 Paris), French sculptor, pupil of Pigalle.
