Terracotta, black wooden base. inscribed "D. H. Chiparus". With plinth: 32 x 40 x 16 cm. 6.97 kg.
On an octagonal, black-painted wooden base, a double-headed bust of a young pair of lovers.
If it is Demétre Haralamb Chiparus (actually Dumitru Haralamb Chipăruș, 1886 Dorohoi, Kingdom of Romania - 1947 Paris), Romanian sculptor and ceramist, studied under the Italian sculptor Raffaello Romanelli, moved to Paris in 1912, where he attended the École des Beaux-Arts, where he was taught by Antonin Mercié and Jean Boucher.
