Heavy, partially open-worked gilded stucco frame. Small defect to the upper corner of the canopy.

* Knauf, late Impressionist landscape painter, studied at the Düsseldorf Academy. From 1921 represented at exhibitions in Königsberg (East Prussia, from 1946 Kaliningrad) and Memel (from 1923 Klaipéda, Lithuania), from 1931 resident in Nidden (from 1923 Nida, Lithuania). An artists' colony came together in Nidden, which also included Max Pechstein, Karl Schmidt-Rottluff and Lovis Corinth, works in the East Prussian State Museum in Lüneburg.
