17 x 36 cm. framed : 24.5 x 43 cm (partially silver frame).
Impressionist-style flat landscape depicting cows by a shallow body of water near the village.
Painter in Karlsruhe, a student of his father Wilhelm Heinrich G. Baisch; studied at the Stuttgart Art School and in Paris; in Munich, he was a master student of Lier. From 1881, professor at the Karlsruhe Academy of Fine Arts. He was strongly influenced by the Old Masters of the Netherlands as well as by the Fontainebleau School. Leading representative of German plein air painting.
