Bacchante with Putto
Terracotta. Marked “Joncery.” 41 x 30 x 28 cm. 4.5 kg.
Group modeled after Claude Michel, Clodion. The bacchante sits on the ground with grapes in her hand, offering them to the kicking putto in her lap. Barely any signs of age or wear; possible restoration on the putto’s right leg.
If this is by Charles Emile Jonchery, then: French sculptor in Paris (1873–1937).
