A rare collector's item: a high-quality gold savonnette from "Glocken-Union". Dürrstein & Co.
Switzerland. Late 19th century. “Union” brand with “Bell with Five Stars” trademark, movement no. 48254, case no. 48254.
Marked, grained, gold-plated three-quarter plate movement with lever escapement, blued Breguet hairspring and screws, screw-compensated balance, swan-neck fine-adjustment, screwed chatons, jewels, crown winding. Functional in a short-term test. White enamel dial with recessed center, Arabic numerals, minute track, small seconds, and Louis XV hands.
Hallmarked 585, Swiss inspection mark, fineness mark, manufacturer’s mark, gold dust cover, and additional glass dust cover. Ø 5.4 cm. 120 g.
Smooth spring-lid case with a ligated monogram WS. Slight signs of age and wear; slightly dented at the edge.
