Walnut and Macassar mother-of-pearl. Height 67.5 cm. 1.325 kg.
Probably from southern Germany, 19th century. Large crucifix mounted on a matching stand. The front is covered with mother-of-pearl inlays, some of which are attached to the sides and carved with figurative designs. The mother-of-pearl is partially cracked and shows some losses; Christ’s feet and one hand are loose; traces of a previous restoration, e.g., Christ’s feet were formerly glued, a chip in the foot has also been repaired, and on the back there is a former break at the level of the arms of the cross.
