French officer's watch with Grande and Petite Sonnerie, alarm and calendar.
Circa 1840/50. movement number 775.
Unmarked brass movement, visible balance with lever escapement, hour and quarter strike on 2 bells, separate pusher for repetition. Levers for "Silence", "Petite Sonnerie" and "Grande Sonnerie" on the underside. Movement and sonnerie in working order, setting of the alarm in need of overhaul. White enamel dial with Roman numerals, minute circle and Breguet hands, small seconds at the 12, in the lower section 3 sub-dials for day of the week (inscribed in French) and date (Arabic numerals) and alarm (inscribed in Roman numerals), handwritten inscription "Le Roy à PARIS".
Silver plated. H 18.5 cm. 2 kg.
Carriage Clock with 5-sided faceted glazed caseäuse with floral engravings on all sides, Bügel handle. Slight signs of age, minimal glass chip.
