Ca. 1944. movement and case number 5347.
Pre-assembled brass movement cal. 05 for marine chronometer, type E (Einheitschronometer), mark ALS, with arrestor, key winding. Movement starts, cleaning recommended. Screw-on crystal, silver dial with Arabic numerals, minute circle, small seconds, UP/DOWN indication and brass leaf hands, marked "A. Lange & Söhne Glashütte B/Dresden".
17.5 x 21 x 18.5 cm. 3.9 kg.
Oak case with faceted glazed hinged lid, side carrying handles. Brass label "A. Lange & Söhne 5347 Glashütte i./Sa.". Ship's chronometer sold on 12.07.1944 to the Deutsche Seewarte Hamburg / Kriegsmarine, Zweigstelle Gesundbrunnen. Slight signs of age and wear.
