Hubert Koch: German art glassblower, glass designer and glass artist; member of the Association of Visual Artists of the GDR, freelance in Lauscha. Since 1977 participation in numerous national and international exhibitions. Artistic director of the International Glass Symposia in Lauscha 1986 and 1989; "From the broad environment of lampwork glassblowers in the Thuringian Forest, who followed Albin Schaedel (1904 - 1999) from the design of animal figures into the vessel, Hubert Koch was the only one who could really break away from his model and develop a highly independent formal language, even in international comparison. His delicate glasses, in which he often juxtaposes undecorated surfaces and echoes of natural forms, have won many awards."
