Late work of the painter with fishermen near the hut with the nets and wide view into mountainous Nordic landscape.
Dutch painter and etcher, known for his depictions of animals and landscapes. Established himself in Paris from 1801 and remained in the city for almost a decade. Later he became drawing master under Napoleon III. From 1809 he was based in Rome and made trips to Naples, Palestrina or Terni. He is the father of Henriette Ronner-Knip.
