Fine colored painting after the painting template of Antonio da Correggio (Antonio Allegri, 1489 Correggio - 1534 Correggio). The painting (217 x 137 cm) hangs in the Galleria nazionale di Parma. It was made for the church of San Sepolcro in Parma. The painting is built on a diagonal line that starts at the bottom left with the bowl and goes up through the hands of the Virgin, the Child Jesus and Joseph, the pose of Jesus acts as a link. Unsigned, unglazed base, press marks with year, incised mark, banded shield. Profiled gold frame with black ornamental border. Minimal burn crack on the upper edge, frame dimensions not suitable for the image motif of the plate.
