Painting attributed to Johann Andreas Bechdolff. All sides meticulously painted architectural landscapes in purple camaieu. Floral bouquet on the lid. Gilded mount with hinge and thumb grip. At the bottom small glaze defect.
Bechdolff, 1734-1807, was 1748-1764 painter at the faience and porcelain manufactory in Ellwangen and at the faience factory in Schrezheim. Since then worked as an independent enamel and jar painter in Ellwangen. Decorated mainly snuffboxes with delicate landscapes, figural representations and fantasy architectural landscapes * Partner auction Bergmann.
