Tabatiere with bisque medallion.

Polychrome painted. Ø 8.5 cm.
Round tabatiere with metal mounted hinged lid. All sides scattered floral and insect painting, on the lid a bisque medallion with the relief depiction of the Palatine-Bavarian Elector Karl Theodor of the Palatinate (1724-1799), after a medal created on the occasion of the founding of the Academy of Fine Arts in Mannheim, designed by the medalist and stamp cutter Georg Christoph Wächter (1729-1789). Bumps on the inner rim of the body, burn crack inside.
