Baroque angel figure with vine tendril
Softwood polychrome painted, partly gilded. Circa 1700. h 43,5 / 62,5 cm.
Fully sculpted figure of standing angel in moving contrapost holding a stake with vine tendril beside him. Younger supplemented, marbled wooden pedestal in Baroque style. Few traces of glue, hardly any missing parts, back anobia traces, frame rubbed with a few chips.
Provenance : Formerly Ludwig Collection, Regensburg. See additional photo in the online catalog (exhibition at the Haus der Kunst, Munich from 1956).
