Large smiling and sitting Buddha.
Probably 19th century. Burma.
Wood. H 63 cm.
More weathered figure of a seated Buddha with the gesture of touching the earth. The hands disproportionately large. Remnants of dark red colored paint. In the rear plinth empty reliquary compartment. Larger missing parts on hand, the edge of the plinth and the crown.
Provenance : Private collection, acquired in the 1960s on the German art market.
