Alabaster or Cauermasse, onyx marble plinth in brass mount, base filled with plaster. Signed with indistinct addition ("10"?). H 41,5 / 47,5 cm.
Kneeling nude of a young woman leaning down to the water with a conch shell in her hand. 1 wrist glued, minimal hairline cracks in the natural stone base, otherwise hardly any signs of age/use.
Sculptor in Berlin and Rome, student of his father Karl. The marble figure "Wasserschöpferin" from 1900 is in the National Gallery in Berlin.
