The Old Tobias (in the Book of Tobit) from Hartmann Schedel's famous World Chronicle in German - the illustrated account of world history from the beginning of the world to 1492/1493, published in Nuremberg in 1493. It was divided into 7 world ages according to the tradition of medieval chronicles. The 656-page work contains more than 1800 woodcuts from the Nuremberg workshop of Michael Wolgemut (1434 - 1519), sheet: 9.5 x 26.5 cm, in the passe-partout: 24 x 39 cm, sheet trimmed, some foxing and sheet: 35 x 24.3 cm, in the passe-partout: 46 x 36.6 cm, sheet somewhat griffspurig, sheet with worm damage.
German physician, humanist and historian; his main work is the so-called Schedelsche Weltchronik.
