Based on the view of Esslingen on the Neckar by Matthäus Merian, depicting the city fire in Esslingen on the Neckar in 1701 with ruins, clouds of smoke and conflagration, which was created for a collection for the reconstruction; with accompanying text in German, inscribed "Entsetzliche Feuers-Brunst / Welche den 25. Octobr. of the year 1701 put back / The Imperial City of Esslingen be-troffen / and unfortunately ! such mehrertheils eingeäschert". Sheet restored.
