The patterns of the Japanese porcelain painter Sakaida Kakiemon (c. 1596-c. 1666) and his successors in Arita were imitated in Meissen, especially in the years around 1723 to 1733. The delicate Kakiemon decorations are the counterparts to the Imari products, often asymmetrically laid out with natural motifs.
