Rare figural seal with gemstones and gems.
Early 18th century
Silver gilt, painted ceramic(?) head, various colored stones, turquoise cabochons, half-pearls and old-cut diamonds in bezel settings, footplate rock crystal(?) gem, on the arms gems of Nicolo layer stones. H 5,5 cm. 37 g.
Probably from the circle of Johann Melchior Dinglinger, petapiece in the form of a fully plastic "Mohren" or Maori bust with ornamental stones on the finely engraved finery, as well as painted tattoos on the incarnate. The octagonal footplate gem with mythological scene: several women at the cauldron with goblets, one drinking (Sophonisbe?). On the arm sections oval gems: Seated Faun/Satyr with amphora(?) and winged figure with scepter(?).
