Hunting rifle with six-groove barrel, octagonal on the outside, this triple decorated with engraved brass inlays. Stock richly inlaid with brass, mother-of-pearl, bone and green stone inlays. Rear sight and ramrod present. Good condition and beautiful age patina. Few inlays especially at the butt end missing. Cock loose as the screw is missing. Slider works. Openworked cover of the spring for the cock somewhat bent. Piston chamber jammed.
Also referred to as a Teschinke or Kurländer wheel lock.
Provenance : From the weapons collection of the Princes Reuß j.L. at Osterstein Castle Gera. In 1945 it falls victim to the castle fire for the most part.
