On the long stick with end knob mounted bell pouch with decorated hinged lid as well as applied monogram "KLvdG" with date "1802" in wreath with princely crown. Signs of age/use.
Monogram of Karl Leopold von der Gabelentz (1778-1831), Chancellor in the Duchy of Saxe-Gotha-Altenburg and friend of Bernhard August Lindenau, the founder of Lindenau's collections, which led to the establishment of the Lindenau Museum. Moreover, he is considered the inventor of the game of skat.
