Crank, 3 weights, pendulum, metal chains, rope, 1 case key. Flute clocks form a symbiosis of timekeeping and music playing and testify to great craftsmanship. On the hour, the flute clock first strikes a bell or tone spring and then triggers the built-in organ movement. First, air is pumped into a bellows, which drives the music roll and is scanned by the keyboard. Various pipes are made to sound. The late 18th century can be considered the heyday of flute clocks. Especially Viennese flute clocks became a sought-after export article. Simpler flute clocks from the Black Forest were produced until the middle of the 19th century.
