Very nice deerstalker with byknife.
Around 1800.
Blade L approx. 49 cm, total L 68.5 cm.
Straight, double-edged blade with a central ridge, half blued, with gilt ornamentation. Richly decorated guard plate and quillons with remnants of gilding. Fluted, conical wooden grip with oval pommel. Black leather scabbard with button in the shape of a pig's head and by-knife. The latter possibly an old replacement. The point unusually shortened.
