Grey, salt-glazed stoneware with incised and stamped decoration, cobalt blue painting and dotted decoration. H 26 to 27.5 cm.

2 cartouche jugs with floral decoration, 1 decorative band jug with 2 friezes of incised oval reserves and indented circles as well as a central knotted band. Each with partly engraved pewter lid and ball finial, punched inside. Each with defects.

The Westerwald stoneware offered in this auction was collected by Albrecht von der Gabelentz (1873-1933), chamberlain at the ducal court in Altenburg. He was appointed director of the Lindenau Museum in 1912. After the duke's abdication in 1918, Albrecht von der Gabelentz also took over the management of the palace museum on a voluntary basis. The collection was continued by his son Georg (1906-1954).
