Baroque Thuringian faience tankard with chinoiserie. Erfurt.
Blue brush mark C. Circa 1730/50.
White glaze, colored hot-fire painting. H 24 cm.
Cylindrical body with decorated band handle, two seated Asians in a landscape with architecture on the front. Replaced pewter lid with ball finial, engraved "J.G.W.F.", punched inside. Inside crazed, slightly cracked, glaze partially chipped and rubbed.
