The sheets with the sketched nudes are painted on both sides, thus six nudes, one sheet verso with estate stamp. 2) darkened paper in the area of the passepartout window 3) with abrasion from red chalk drawing.
Expressionist painter of the artists' initiative Das Junge Rheinland. From 1926 to 1933 he taught as a professor at the Weimar State Academy of Fine Arts. Since the bombing raids in 1943, in which the artist's apartment was also destroyed, a large part of his work, especially his graphic works, is considered lost or destroyed.
