Unmarketable. 1930s. Model no.: 6581. DELL, Christian (design)(1893 Offenbach - 1974 Wiesbaden)
Black lacquered iron, light lacquered shade, screw base. H approx. 49 cm.
Weighted round base with original pressure switch, pivoting shaft and swivel-mounted shade. Lacquer somewhat scratched, wiring renewed. Function not tested.
Christian Dell studied at the Weimar School of Arts and Crafts under Henry van de Velde. From 1922 to 1925, he was foreman of the metal workshop at the Bauhaus in Weimar. There he worked with Marianne Brandt, among others, on the design of lamps for industrial production.
