After the engraving by Lucas Vorsterman I (engraver and draughtsman, 1595 Zaltbommel - 1675 Antwerp). A copy, oil on wood (28 x 38 cm) is in the Alte Pinakothek, Munich (acquired in 1799). Some minor losses of color in the margin.
Rubens: one of the most famous Baroque painters and diplomat of the Spanish-Habsburg crown. 1600 Court painter to Duke Vincenzo Gonzaga in Mantua, active again in Antwerp from 1608. 1610 Court painter to Archduke Albrecht and Archduchess Isabella, 1611 own studio in Antwerp, 1623-1629 active in Madrid * Partner auction Bergmann.
