Rich ornamental decoration in relief gold over colored fond reserves in the old Viennese style. The mirror finely painted in color "Rinaldo and Armida" after a painting by Angelika Kauffmann (1741 Chur - 1807 Rome). Pseudo-binding label mark, gold title. Internal stand ring minimally bumped, gold partially rubbed.
Figures from the epic poem "The Liberated Jerusalem" by Torquato Tasso (1544 Sorento - 1595 Rome). Armida has fallen in love with the knight Rinaldo, bewitched him and abducted him into the enchanted forest, freed by his companions, he releases the spell and thus provides the crusaders with wood as material for the conquest of Jerusalem * Partner auction Bergmann.
