Wool, finely hand-knotted. Monochrome decoration in cherry red, midnight blue, brown and white. Approx. 118 x 93 cm.
Turkmen niche carpet with a rectangular stepped mihrab and 7 superimposed tekke güls, framed by a multi-row border with stylized blossoms, hooks and S motifs, narrow sides with diamond-patterned horizontal bars, a house symbol in the upper panel. Short kilim finishes with fringes, partially defective. Signs of age and wear, coloration slightly faded in places.
