The prototype was created in 2003. 5 versions were originally planned. According to the artist, however, only 2 further versions were created in 2005. Made in two parts, placed loosely on top of each other. Almost life-size female figure. Standing nude of a young woman holding a red cloth in front of her. Her white painted incarnation makes her appear to be from a higher sphere, while her gaze appears dreamy and enraptured. Nevertheless, she appears human and approachable. . Plinth and 1 foot restored, otherwise minimal chipping.
Sculptor in Berlin, son of the painter Harald Metzkes. Robert M. is one of the most important sculptors in Germany. He studied at the Academy of Fine Arts in Dresden. Since 1985 he has mainly worked with color engobed terracotta sculptures. His favorite model "Mona" is a central motif in his work. Works by the artist can be found in numerous public collections, including Museum Junge Kunst, Frankfurt/Oder, Märkisches Museum Berlin, Kunstsammlung Neubrandenburg, Sammlung Ludwig, Schloss Oberhausen, Städtisches Museum Eisenhüttenstadt, Grassi Museum, Leipzig, Kunstmuseum Kloster Unser Lieben Frauen, Magdeburg, Sammlung des Deutschen Bundestages, Berlin / All lots with a limit (starting price) of at least €2,000 will be checked against the Art Loss Register database.
