Lying on a marble base with bronze plaque
Alabaster, on a veined alabaster base with bronze plaque. inscribed "Aichele". 44 x 43.5 x 19 cm. 22.90 kg.
Antique-style depiction of a seated lady with a fan in her right hand. The rectangular base has an integrated bronze plate depicting a quadriga with charioteer in relief. Signs of age and wear, figure slightly chipped (right hand, right foot), large toe of the right foot broken and glued, base chipped.
If this is Paul Aichele, then: sculptor in Berlin (1859 Markdorf - 1910 Berlin), student at the Stuttgart School of Arts and Crafts and the Berlin Museum of Decorative Arts.
