Marble. inscribed "E. Carlier". H 65 cm. 23.30 kg.
A female figure stands on a rectangular plinth, wrapping herself protectively in her cloth robe as if to protect herself from the cold. Slight signs of age and wear, small chips.
If this is Émile Nestor Joseph Carlier, then: French sculptor (1849 Cambrain - 1927 Paris), studied at the École des Beaux-Arts under Pierre-Jules Cavelier, attended the workshop of François Jouffroy, studied at the Académie Julian in the workshop of Henri Chapu.
